On leaving the feedExample

· v2 · Updated Sep 7, 2026

Benji Taylor wrote that a personal website should feel like you’ve briefly left the rest of the internet. That line stuck.

This site leans into that: dark, calm, conversational bio on the home page, a macOS-style dock instead of a mega-nav, writing without card grids or engagement bait.

What this post is

An example essay (see the badge on the index). It also demonstrates editions — this is v2, with an updated date after a light rewrite.

Reading progress

On essay pages, the Writing icon in the dock glows with scroll progress. Small, optional delight — the kind of detail that ages well if it stays quiet.

When real essays replace these samples, delete the example: true flag (or delete the files).
